Unique remote cottage with sea views
Sleeps up to 4 adults + 1 child
Overlooking the wildflowers of the Haunn Coronation Meadow and enjoying wonderful sea views over to the islands of Tiree, Rum and Skye, Toechtamhor is a remote cottage with sea views at Haunn. A truly peaceful place, two miles from the main road along the farm track.
Toechtamhor (or T’Mhor) large double glazed windows allow guests to enjoy extensive views over the fields to the sea, west to Tiree and Coll and north to Rum or watch red deer, eagles and sometimes hen harriers without leaving the cottage!
Over the last few years Toechtamhor has undergone an ‘eco-renovation’ – solar panels, new aluminium clad wooden windows, cavity wall insulation, sheeps wool insulation, natural paints and beautiful reclaimed waxed maple flooring. Heating is provided by a combination of thermostatically controlled electric heaters backed up with a cosy wood burning stove.
Access to this glorious spot is along an un-metalled farm track. The large grassy garden is stock fenced but please be aware, within the spacious garden, there is an unfenced small burn running down from the hill. There are wonderful walks from this Mull self catering cottage, through the fields to the path which leads down to the shore and along the dramatic coastline.
