This beautiful eco-friendly holiday cottage is spacious and comfortable. Its layout works well for both couples and families! Enjoy the afternoon sun or a summer’s evening barbecue in the west-facing garden.

The accommodation
From the outside you might think this is still a farm building, but slide open the rustic barn door and you will find a spacious and comfortable cottage! Each room in this eco friendly holiday cottage has high coombed ceilings to give an airy feel. Large square Velux windows in the sitting room and main bedroom create plenty of passive solar gain when the sun is shining.
The entrance hall (with adjoining shower-room, W.C., basin and separate drying area) opens into the spacious sitting room.
Cosy by the fire
The sitting room is bright and warm, with red pine floors and rugs, comfortable sofas and armchairs round a wood burning stove. The room has a view to the north across the farmyard and through the trees in the owners’ garden to the sea and Calgary Point. Two single adult sized ‘box beds’ (for the + 2) in the west wall provide an alternative to a sofa bed.
The main bedroom, accessed from the sitting room, offers a super kingsize double bed, an antique marble washstand as a dressing table and ample hanging space in the wardrobe.Accessibility
When we converted the Studio we followed guidance from Visit Scotland and were awarded Category 2 Assisted Wheelchair Access. Please get in touch if you have particular questions about this.
Watch the stars at night!
The window in the north wall looks out across the farm yard beyond the farmhouse garden, through trees, to the sea. The large skylight window floods the room with light and gives the room a relaxing view of the sky – at night you can lie in bed watching the stars!
An attractive spiral staircase leads from the kitchen up to a romantic open sleeping gallery/mezzanine with a kingsize bed. Its skylight window has views over the Point and the sea.
The ample kitchen/dining room affords outstanding views out to the Point and to the sea from the recently upgraded sitooterie (unheated sunroom). Access to the garden from the sitooterie, down two steps. The kitchen itself is well appointed with Smeg ceramic hob and oven, tall fridge/freezer, microwave and food processor.A family bathroom is situated next to the kitchen. Both bath and toilet have hand rails to aid mobility.
There is a small grassy garden with colourful Rosa Rugosa hedging and a garden bench/table – beyond the hedge there is an area for parking the car and a grassy bank provides extra space for children to play. Dogs are welcome.
*Due to our remote location we are unable to get conventional broadband through the phone line. Thanks to the mobile EE signal coming from the Isle of Coll Studio now has unlimited Wi-Fi. We cannot be held responsible should the Wi-Fi stop working for any reason.
