Looking for Mull cottages with sea views? You have come to the right place. Our cottages are situated on a spectacular peninsula with four miles of stunning coastline, meaning we have lots of sea views!
Are the cottages close to the sea?
I am often asked whether the cottages are close to the sea. I never really know what to answer! They are not right on the beach, so no, they are not that close to the sea. Is ten minutes walk to the sea, close? Yes? Then yes, they are close to the sea. The raised beaches that characterise the landscape in this corner of Mull give the cottages an elevated position – meaning you look out at the sea from a height. This gives wonderful viewpoints from the cottages and their gardens.
Do all the cottages have sea views?
The four Treshnish Cottages have sea views. Down at Haunn the more sheltered position of East and Middle mean they do not look out on to the sea – however there are views of the sea from within the garden. There is a favourite spot of mine to sit and look at the view opposite Middle and East. Quite often we come down to meet guests on a Saturday evening and find them sitting at the bench, glass of wine in hand, enjoying the view and the evening sun. Toechtamhor and West both enjoy good views of the sea.
Morning ferries
In the mornings we often see the ferry making its way out to Coll and Tiree. A few hours later it returns on its way back to Oban. The red vessel in the photograph below is heading to a fish farm round in Loch Tuath. A few hours after I took this photograph we saw it returning towards Caliach Point and round the corner. There is a fish food factory in Mallaig so I expect it was going back there.
