Mull Rally weekend
The Mull Rally weekend – 11th to 13th October – clashes with the Scottish October school holidays which can make finding somewhere to stay quite difficult. However this year we have lots of availability and as we are a 45 minute drive from Tobermory, we are a good alternative place to stay away from the busy-ness of Tobermory!

We have had some memorable days during previous Mull Rally weekends, out on the hill, watching Red deer stags fight over groups of hinds, in brilliant warm sunshine – or walking along the coast sea watching.
The Mull Rally does run past our road end and the road is closed on the Saturday afternoon and night. And by early Sunday morning, the roads are open again and the island can get back to normal!
Something different
We are offering something different this year, and instead of changing over on Friday and Saturday, we have decided to avoid arrivals and departures on the Mull Rally weekend itself. Our bookings will start on a Tuesday or Wednesday that week instead. This will make booking ferries easier.

Short breaks
Have a look at the Make a Booking page for the short breaks either side of the Mull Rally weekend.
Other autumn vacancies
We have a few spaces left in September too. It can be a lovely month to be on the island. The roads are quieter but all the cafes and eating places are still open, if like me you are a coffee fiend!

Aurora Borealis
And of course, from now on is Aurora season. The photograph at the top of this blog was taken from the farmhouse gate in early August. This winter is the peak of the cycle of solar activity so we are hopeful that we will have lots of clear skies to coincide with the good forecasts! It is all down to luck though! And there is no guarantee. But an evening spent outside on a peaceful starry night, watching for the Aurora can be a wonderful experience.
