April holidays on Mull
April is a lovely time of year to be on the island, and on the farm. The days are getting longer, and hopefully warmer. Lambing gets underway in the middle of the month, and Primroses will be flowering where the sheep cannot reach them. Below is one of our Herdwicks, lambing for the first time last April, with a fine set of twins.
Easter
Easter is late this year, but most attractions and places to eat will be thinking about opening for the season soon. Have a look at this blog for links to visitor attractions. Even though the text is about autumn on Mull, it gives you links to visitor attractions on Mull.
You can use the Mull and Iona Food Trail website to search for places which specialise in local produce. We leave a Food Trail Map in the cottage on your arrival too.
April weather
It is impossible to predict the weather, but the photograph below was taken last April on Calgary Beach. Someone doing a handstand! We had wonderful weather. The year before, we had snow! Snow at lambing time is not good, so we were grateful it didn’t last long.
