Tin Shed Gallery
Our neighbour Charlotte Mellis is a Ceramicist. She has exhibited throughout the UK over the years – you may have seen her work on the island before. However, very exciting, she has now opened her own gallery! It has only been open a week or so, and it is so close to Treshnish, you really must go! There is a sign at her road end so you can’t miss it as you drive towards Torloisk from Treshnish. It is the first turning on the right once you leave our track.
Charlotte Mellis Ceramics
Charlotte makes a variety of ceramic work, including sculptural pieces and panels reflecting her interest in corrugated and tin buildings. Her domestic ware is stunning and includes wonderful tiles and large decorative bowls. The gallery has a huge selection of her work and she is always adding new things as and when they emerge from her kiln.
Please have a look at Charlotte’s website to see more of her work. She isn’t on any social media, so keeping in touch with what she is doing is only possible by looking at her website.
Exhibitions
Charlotte will be inviting artists and photographers to hang their work on the walls, and the first exhibition is of photographs that I have taken of corrugated buildings over the last 10 years or so.
Opening hours
Currently the Tin Shed Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am until 4pm. There are Covid social distancing measures in place and you must wear a mask.
