Tobermory Book Festival 2022
It’s back after a 2 year Covid break, the Tobermory Book Festival 2022! Friday 28th to Sunday 30th October.
Subjects covered in the Tobermory Book Festival 2022 include Mull and its Wildlife; The Coffin Roads of the West; the Tobermory Galleon; Mendelssohn; Rewinding and Regeneration; Food and lots more.
There is a good mix of speakers and events, and promises to be an interesting weekend. There are simple talks on their own, as well as lunches and talks and dinners with authors talking about their work.
Speakers include Ghillie Basan; Sally Magnusson; Patrick Laurie and Andrew Painting; Martin Jones and Stephen Littlewood; Ailidh Forlan; Kirsty Scobie and Fenella Renwick; Ian Bradley and Nigel Leask.
As well as listening to interesting speakers, there are lots of opportunities to eat well too. Look at the programme on the Tobermory Book Festival 2022 website and book yourself a lunch or a dinner accompanied by an author. I’m keen to attend the opening lunch with the Seafood Shack from Ullapool on Friday at 12 at An Tobar!
A subject close to Treshnish’s heart
I have already secured tickets for Rewilding and Regeneration, a conversation between Patrick Laurie and Andrew Painting. We both loved Patrick’s book Native, so beautifully written. About his experience and understanding of the land, its people, its animals and its wildlife. He returns to the family farm in Galloway and reintroduces Riggit Galloway cattle.
I haven’t yet read Andrew’s book about changing land management on Mar Lodge Estate but it is on the reading list!
You can look at the programme and purchase tickets on the An Tobar website. Best to follow that link, its quite difficult to find all the events in the one place otherwise.
At the time of writing, we have space in Shieling and Shian from Friday 28th October and in Middle from Saturday 29th October.
