Wildflower Walk and Moveable Feast
This year we are hosting our Wildflower Walk and Moveable Feast on Wednesday July 17th. Last year we timed it to coincide with Open Farm Sunday in June, but this year we are doing our own Meadows Day celebration, a little later than Plantlife!
The Picnic
Jeanette from Ballygown is preparing a Moveable Feast again this year, which she will bring to us when we have finished the walk. If it is sunny we will picnic outside on picnic rugs. Please bring your own camp chair if you need one! If it is raining we will huddle in the farm building as we have done a couple of times in the past!
Mull and Iona Ranger Service
Lizzy, one of the Rangers from the Mull and Iona Ranger Service, will join us on the walk. Along with Lizzy and local flower enthusiasts, we look forward to spotting lots of wildlife and discovering lots of wild flowers.
High Nature Value Farming
We will talk about High Nature Value Farming as we walk and the latest environmental scheme we are involved in.
Walking:
We will be walking along the farm track to Haunn, and through some of the fields. Please wear suitable footwear for uneven ground, and appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. The distance we will walk is between 2 and 3 miles.
Timing:
Please be here to start the walk at 11am on Wednesday 17th July. There is parking in the farmyard by the farmhouse. There is no need to book the walk.
Jeanette will deliver the Moveable Feast around 1pm. You are welcome to bring your own Picnic, but if you want one of the Moveable Feasts, you must pre-book this with Jeanette on 01688 500113.
Please get in touch if you have any further queries. We look forward to seeing you on the day – hopefully the weather will be better than 2017!!
