Winter comes early
As I am writing this, we are in the middle of Storm Ali. I can see a cruise ship heading steadily past Treshnish headland, some distance out towards Coll. I don’t think we are in the heart of the storm here. So far there has been no damage, and the sea doesn’t look that rough. However the ferries have been cancelled for the rest of the day. That always brings a wintery feel to the day. Luckily I do love the feeling of being at the mercy of the weather.
October days and nights
October is a great time to be on the island. Granted we can have some hideous weather, but we can also have some staggeringly beautiful days. I can still remember as clearly as if it was yesterday, the October day when we watched the Red deer rut on the hill. And another when I stood watching the Aurora borealis over Calgary Bay. Epic days, which I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
What to do
It can be confusing not knowing what is still open and what isn’t. Have a look at this blog to find out more!
Whatever the weather
Whatever the weather, the cottages at Treshnish are comfortable welcoming spaces, warm and cosy all year round. All have full heating and all except Shieling have a woodturning stove. The 4 Treshnish Cottages have their own Wifi, and so does Toechtamhor. (The others have access to shared Wifi at the farm.)
*The Winter Season terms (Winter season prices are for occupancy of 2, with supplement payable for more than 2) apply to this offer.
