Writers retreat on Mull
We have a writer staying this week. Her name is Judy Fairbairns and many of you will have come across her best selling book about her life on Mull, ‘Island Wife’. She comes and stays every now and then, taking a break from her daily life, just a few miles down the road.
Earlier in the week, she wrote about being here. I found it poignant to read what is involved in her making time for herself, but it was lovely to read her observations of being at Haunn, and how that feels. Thank you Judy for sharing the specialness of Haunn on your blog.
Write a book at Haunn
It wouldn’t be the first time a book was written at Haunn – as Dominic Cooper, author of ‘Dead of Winter’ wrote some of his book here too. It is based on the deserted village of Crackaig, on the far side of the farm.
I might be biased because I live here, but I think this would be a wonderful place to get away from it all to write. Or paint! There is wonderful landscape to lose yourself in when you need to. There is a comfortable armchair or sofa in each cottage to relax in once you have finished working for the day.
Long lets
We are happy to negoicate a special rate if you want to spend longer than a couple of weeks here. Please contact us for details!
Switch off and stay connected
There are cottages which have Wi-Fi and cottages which don’t. So you can choose how connected you need to be to the outside world. If you are on either Vodafone or EE you will also be able to use your mobile phone. Likewise, some cottages have TV and some don’t. The choice is yours!
